Well there are some reasons for that situation to occur .

1)You deserve to bel loved in a true manner not for casual or fun motives.

2)God may have chosen your destiny and perhaps drifted you away from that person so that you meet the correct person whom you can spend rest of your life happlily !!!

3) Its better to have loved a bit or never to be loved at all.

3)You may not be deserved to be loved.

I think you can figure out the reason now
